i’m writing my paper on the verbage of menstruation in Macbeth and how the subordination of the feminine creates a gender structure that negatively judges the actions of both men and women and forces them to do things they otherwise wouldn’t because the gender structure pigeonholes them into categories of ‘how men should act’ and ‘how women should act.’

and then I realized that even though i’m writing about a fictional play that was performed in the early 1600s I’m actually writing about today.

which is why I love Shakespeare and also why I hate goddamn gender structures and stereotypes.
