Ok, hold up yall, this here is Kaylee. And she is incredible.
Ok, she’s a god damn mechanic, first of all. She’s sex-positive, adorable as hell, generally just kick ass.
I think my favorite moment with Kaylee is when she and Mal see that adorable pink frilly dress in the window of a shop, and Kaylee wants it. Oh how she wants it. That dress will be the prettiest thing she owns, it reminds her of how gorgeous Inara is. It’s a simple luxury.
Kaylee is complex and I like that. She’s a grease monkey, the only one who can keep their poor rust bucket of a ship in the air, and still she has this wonderful feminine side to her. I have a real admiration for characters who can strike both traditionally feminine and masculine traits so naturally.
